Barbara Brown,
President/CEO

The founder and CEO of our organization, Barbara Brown provides the professional framework for the creative and business expertise at BBM&D. Her extensive experience in marketing and visual communications spans over two decades, and is the catalyst of increasing demand for our company’s services. Her background includes award-winning work for clients such as Patagonia, WellPoint, 3M, and Princess Cruises and she has been published in numerous industry and benchmark publications. Her recent stint at Harvard Business School has refined the link between great design and great commerce that is the cornerstone of our work, but it is the success of our clients that is the best testament to the work we do.

Keir DuBois,
Chief Creative Officer 

Keimanagesdesigns and develops marketing materials for commercial and nonprofit identity in both print (logos, stationery, brochures, folders, magazines, copywriting/editing) and web (programming in HTML/CSS/Javascript/Flash, e-mail marketing, integration of CMS, E-commerce, SEO and social media). Keir's work has won numerous gold, silver, and bronze AAF Addy awards, and has also been nominated for a WPA Maggie award and an AEP Distinguished Achievement award. His high regard for function as well as form allows him to be adept in both pixel and print, where Keir uses his UCSB English degree to write dazzling copy and proof with precision.

As Chief Creative Officer, Keir DuBois is responsible for telling a client's story via their brand, managing an in-house creative team through all stages of each project. Keir joined BBM&D in 2004, working with clients to leverage emerging technologies and setting the tone for user interface design. His background as a writer, journalist, web developer and programmer brings multiple levels of expertise to the table, and he has won a number of American Advertising Federation "Addy" awards. Keir is interested in encouraging young designers and moving the industry forward, so he serves on the local AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists) Board of Directors and has been an active participant in many industry education panels.

 

Arrate Zavala,
Art Director

Arrate Zavala brings her sense of sophistication and elegance to client brands at BBM&D. As Art Director, she oversees the design team, is a key creator, and manages brand development/design for print, and motion graphics for the web. Inspired by her multicultural background, Arrate's work creates emotional connections; is colorful, elegant and innovative. She has won two WPA Maggie awards and numerous AAF Addy awards. Arrate holds a B.A. in Studio Art and Art History from CSU Channel Islands, where her work has been showcased to high praise.

Burnet Brown,
SEO, Research, Brand Strategist

Burnet Brown brings extensive experience in strategic marketing to BBM&D. He has been a key architect in developing major strategic initiatives and segmented marketing strategies for numerous national and international companies and organizations. Burnet has also researched, developed, managed and implemented marketing programs and secured corporate sponsorships for local and national events in widely diverse markets. His knowledge of search engine optimization is particularly valuable to our web clients.

Heidi Wagner,
Head of Accounting

As Head of Accounting, Heidi leads BBM&D's financial and accounting department. Heidi and her team provide accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting to aid in business decisions and planning. She also ensures audit and tax compliance are met across all  entities.
